IGFP & CoE Bharat Chamber of Commerce Promoting International Cooperation on OSH SS through Partnership with MOSPHA Malaysia

 The Indo-Global Focal Point (IGFP) –  has taken another significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) by facilitating discussions between the Bharat Chamber of Commerce and the Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Practitioners’ Association (MOSHPA).

The virtual meeting, held at 12:30 PM IST, was attended by Dato Kanagaraja Raman, President of MOSHPA, Mr. Tianyang Lim, and Sri B.K. Sahu, Founder Director of IGFP and representative of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Bharat Chamber of Commerce.

APOSHO 40 to be Hosted in Kuala Lumpur

During the meeting, Dato Kanagaraja Raman announced that the 40th Asia-Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO 40) Conference will be hosted by MOSHPA in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 28–30 October 2026.

The prestigious conference will bring together occupational safety professionals, policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, researchers, and international organisations to discuss emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in workplace safety and health.

The conference will conclude with the International Occupational Safety & Health Awards Ceremony on 30 October 2026, recognising outstanding contributions to workplace safety across the Asia-Pacific region.

Proposed Business Delegation from India

To strengthen bilateral cooperation between India and Malaysia in the field of Occupational Safety, Health, and Social Security, the following roadmap was proposed:

  • A Business Delegation from Bharat Chamber of Commerce will arrive in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2026.

  • A high-level Business Meeting will be organised on 27 October 2026 to facilitate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MOSHPA, PERKESO (Malaysia’s Social Security Organisation), and the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, with IGFP acting as the facilitating organisation.

  • Delegates from India will participate in the APOSHO 40 International Conference from 28–30 October 2026, engaging with global experts, regulators, and industry representatives.

  • The delegation will also attend the International Awards Ceremony on the evening of 30 October 2026.

Dato Kanagaraja Raman informed the participants that MOSHPA, in consultation with PERKESO, will issue a formal invitation to the Bharat Chamber of Commerce through Madam Keka Sarma, with a copy to IGFP, which will coordinate the participation of the Indian delegation and facilitate collaborative initiatives.

Strengthening Global Partnerships for Zero Accident Vision

This initiative reflects IGFP’s continued commitment to building international partnerships that promote Zero Accident Vision, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), social security, and sustainable workforce development.

The proposed collaboration is expected to create opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional networking, joint training programmes, policy dialogue, and the adoption of global best practices in workplace safety. It also reinforces IGFP’s mission of connecting Indian institutions with leading international organisations to advance safer workplaces, healthier workers, and stronger social security systems.

The upcoming APOSHO 40 Conference is expected to serve as a landmark platform for fostering Indo-Malaysian cooperation and expanding regional collaboration in occupational safety, health, and workforce welfare.
