Workshop for Promoting Zero Accident Vision for Drivers & School Children With Focus

31 January, 2026 GOAL IDTRS Bonai, a joint venture between the Government of Odisha and Ashok Leyland, hosted a workshop at its 37-acre campus on January 30, 2026, as part of the ongoing Road Safety Month celebrations. Fresh candidates aspiring to become commercial vehicle drivers (both LMV and HMV) and existing HMV drivers undergoing refresher/renewal of driving license attended the workshop. In addition, schoolchildren also participated in the event. The workshop was conceived and organised by the Centre for Driver Relationship Management (CDRM) in association with Indo-Global Focal Point and Swastha Bhoomi. Sri Bikash Choudhary, Joint Commissioner, Department of Transport, Government of Odisha, was the Chief Guest at the august gathering, and he detailed the state government’s focused initiatives to build a pool of well-trained commercial vehicle drivers as part of the nation-building exercise. Other participants included: Sri Hemanta Kumar Parhi, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Government of Odisha; Sri B K Sahu, Founder-Director, Indo-Global Focal Point; Sri N K Dhal, Advisor, L&T Construction; Dr Ansari, BM ESI, Rourkela and Sri Ramesh Kumar, Founder, CDRM. Welcoming the gathering, Sri Debasis Mohanty, Principal of GOAL IDTRS, spoke on the relevance of road safety. Speakers took turns to emphasise to the audience the need to observe and obey road rules. Strict adherence to road rules leads to safer lives, aligning with the national road safety slogan “Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha.” A Road Safety poster, conceived by IGFP, was released. Later, the audience trooped out to take a collective pledge of the Ten Commandments and signed on the Road Safety Pledge Banner, led by the Transport Commissioner.
